Willie B. Adkins

Willie B. Adkins Program

Students in grades 9-12 enrolled at Vallejo High School can benefit from the Willie B Adkins Scholar Program, which is now in its 30th year of operation. All students attending the school are eligible to participate. Programs are provided by, supervised, and administered by Willie B Adkins staff, in collaboration with VCUSD.

Willie B Adkins provides weekly activities, workshops, field trips, and an opportunity to attend both the In-State and HBCU College tours during the Spring Break. The program is designed to offer engaging, safe, supervised options that reinforce school day learning and dimensions of college readiness including cognitive strategies, content knowledge, self-management skills, and knowledge about post-secondary education.
